As much as I love movies, there are plenty of spectacular films that I’ve missed out on. Would you believe I’ve never watched The Godfather all the way through? I’ve never even started classics like Lawrence of Arabia or Chariots of Fire! This Summer, I’m going to atone for these and many other film lover sins.
Movie-A-Day Summer 2015 Challenge
Each day this Summer (the months of June, July, and August), I’ll be watching a new movie everyday. And when I say new, I mean it: I will only be watching movies that I’ve never seen before. Mixed in will be some all-time classics (like the aforementioned The Godfather and Lawrence of Arabia), more recent releases, possibly a few indie gems, and (hopefully) more than a handful of new personal favorites.
Each Monday, I’ll go over my movie itinerary for the past week and give a brief thought on each film, including whether I would recommend them to my readers or not.
Those who want to follow along on my Great Film Journey can do so on Facebook and Instagram, where I will be sharing the movie choice for each given day. Also, if you follow me on Twitter, I’ll be live Tweeting my thoughts on each movie as I watch it using the hashtag #SummerMovieADay.
I hope you are as excited for this endeavor as I am! I can’t wait to see many of the films that I’ve missed over the years, both the popular and the not-so-popular. If you have any suggestions as to what films I should be checking out, please leave them in the comments below or be sure to connect with me on Twitter. Also, don’t worry! You will still see the normal movie, TV, and book posts that you’ve come to expect from Page & Screen while the challenge is going on.
Until next week… See ya’ at the movies!

June 1, 2015 at 6:11 pmWhat a fun challenge! I love it! I am looking forward to seeing your posts on movies you watch. I hope you come up with a list of your favorites after the challenge! I love watching movies. I don’t watch as many as I’d like so this would be a great challenge for me, too!! I may have to join in on it. 🙂 Great post!

June 1, 2015 at 10:14 pmI have also missed out of many movies including blockbuster ones because I’m always busy with other stuff. Don’t worry, we have other times to catch up on those we missed. I feel excited for you! It’s just as important as scheduling your day right so you would have enough time to choose a movie for each day.

June 2, 2015 at 3:07 pmThis is such a great challenge and a fun one too. My other half actually watches a new film everyday, he fits one in before or after work. He watch the 3 Days of the Condor yesterday and is now watching Skyfall. I recommend you watch Trainspotting, it’s my favourite film, ever 🙂

June 3, 2015 at 2:19 amI wish I had enough time to watch a film everyday! I keep a running list of things I’d like to watch and it seems to just grow and grow.
What a fun challenge, I hope you’ll post a list of your films at the end. I’ve never seen the three you mention, so you might just make my ‘to be watched list’ a bit longer ; -)

June 3, 2015 at 10:01 amI’m really enjoying us doing this challenge! Although, I can’t WAIT until the Internet is fixed so we can get to some GOOD movies that we have on iTunes to watch. Last nights movie was just a bad one in my opinion, although I do know you kind of liked it 🙂

June 6, 2015 at 8:15 amI must be a terrible movie buff, too, as I have never seen most of those films you mentioned. I have always wanted to watch the Godfather Series and it is probably high time I do!
This should be a very good challenge to be part of, I just wish I could do it. It is difficult if you have a little tot who takes charge of our movie list, as well as the remote.
